Titec has a new line of downhill and freeride products out this year called the El Norte group. They sent us a saddle to replace the old worked Tioga Dh "factory prototype" seat I have had on my DH bike since 99 when I tire an old multi control off at Crystal Mountain, wa.

The new El Norte is sick. Large enough to easily control with your thighs but not as huge as the Tioga. It allows good tire clearance in the rear and is comfy as a nice broken in sofa. The traction rubbery logo on the top has its ups and downs. When it gets muddy and wet its great as it keeps you from slip sliding all over, but in the dry and the heat you tend to stick to it like velcro.

The sidewalls and back are an abraison resistent Kevlar like material. So far it has survived several rock garden crashes at high speed without even a nick.

The only downside so far is the gray inner top material tends to stain with mud, so it is losing it's slick looks pretty fast. Also, there is a HUGE el norte printed logo on a piece of metal between the seat rails. It must weigh a ton and is completely unnecessary. Gonna try and cut it off with a hack saw sometime this week.

All in all, we recommend the El Norte saddle for its durability, although it is a bit price at $83 recommended MSRP (we have seen it lower online).
