MARIBOR, Slovenia (transcendmagazine.com) -- The sun was shining and the track was as fast as it has ever been here in Slovenia for the first day of downhill practice. Natural doubles appeared where there was no double before as riders are digging deep to take it right to the edge on a track that is anything but forgiving.
Rain is on tap for tomorrow, and the roots and moondust will turn slippery in a hurry in time for qualifying in the afternoon.
Canadian Steve Smith set the fastest timed practice run with a 3:03, Hill had a 3:07. Look for times to drop dramatically come practice tomorrow. Tracy Moseley had a 3:30 to set the pace for the women.
