VERNON, New Jersey (transcendmagazine.com) -- The US Open of Mountain Biking takes place this weekend at the Diablo Freeride Park at Mountain Creek, New Jersey. Known for it's massive rock gardens and loose corners, this year's course will not disappoint. a few changes from last season have added more rocks, tightened up line choice and added some high speed drifty corners out in the open near the finish.
Last year's winner, Canadian Steve Smith has been laying down runs all week on a course that seems to suit him. " The course I fun and it's really rocky. It's tough to have a perfect run here so you really have to work hard at it." Smith has been joined by Sam Hill (AUS - Monster Energy - Specialized) and teammate Brendan Fairclough (GBR). Defending World Champion Gee Atherton (UK) is also here for the first time.
