PIETERMARIZTBURG, South Africa (transcendmagzine.com) -- Local boy Greg Minnaar took home the win on his home course here in South Africa. Tracy Moseley scored the first gold for the women for her new Trek racing team.
Tracy has this to say following her win. "I thought it would be wicked on your birthday, and i thought in the back of my mind it would be wicked to try and win., I was really pleased it has all come together. A pretty good birthday to remember. The top section went really well and i started relaxing and thinking i had to pedal a bit extra compared to my qualifying run. I just sat up and gave it."
Sam Hill managed a 4th place, surprising many. The competition has been given notice for Canberra, a course he did not do well on this year. "t went really good, this is probably the worst track for me this year that we are going to race out of 8 rounds. Pretty much always been off the back against the top guys in pedally tracks like this so to finish 4th i was way off the winner, but i beat some of the guys who always put time into me on pedally tracks. 4th is a really good result here for me."
