PIETERMARITZBURG, South Africa (transcendmagazine.com) -- As predicted, last night's rain has turned the course into a greasy, icy slip and slide. The upper sections were near unrideable this morning. By noon the lower sections had dried completely but the upper technical section was still greasy and dangerous. As such most riders did one (very slow) run and decided not to ride anymore. A few riders gave it a last ditch effort right at the buzzer, but the shuttle trucks remained idle for the most part.
The sun is out and it is scorching hot now, so the course will hopefully dry out if the rain stays away this evening.
