The third annual Chromfest Downhill race was held this weekend at Mt. Blanc in the Quebec Laurentians and Transcend Magazine team riders James Jeannet and Emmanuel Daoust took part in the event which traditionaly marks the end of the DH racing season in Quebec.
This year over 100 riders braved the cold weather and occasional sprinkles of rain to chase the $500 top prize given to the fastest rider of the day.
James and Emmnauel were both competing in the Junior category along with about 20 other racers. Emmanuel was the first rider down in the category and set the pace with quick 2:27 to get on to the "Hot Seat". Two riders later his team mate James squeezed past him by a little over a second into the lead with 2:26 clocking, James would hold on to the "Hot Seat" for the remainder of the Junior categfory and would eventually finish with the 5th best overall time of the day. Emmanuel held on to second place and once again as at the provincial championships both riders would make it to the podium.
Best time of the day along with that $500 prize went to Norco Factory rider Hans Lambert who came in at 2:21 to edge out Antoine Larose who came across in 2:22.
