AIGLE, Switzerland (transcendmagazine.com) -- Official rule changes have now been released to UCI trade team members, and will be posted on the UCI website in their official wording on December 15.
With regards to DH, here are the rule changes:
Visors are obligatory for 2009.
Protections in Downhill/4X:
An approved full-face helmet must be worn properly fastened both when racing and when training on the course. The helmet must be fitted with a visor. Open-face helmets may not be worn.
As reported, skinsuits and all other tight clothing is banned..in a speed sport. Genius.
Clothing in Downhill/4X:
All tight-fitting clothing is not permitted
The 20 point rule now extends to all riders, no matter your UCI team affiliation.
World Cup Participation:
Will basically remain the same as last year except that riders belonging to a UCI MTB Team will need the 20 UCI points as well to participate at UCI MTB World Cup.
