Jeannet takes 2nd at Ontario Provincial DH Championships

The Ontario Cycling Association held the provincial DH champioships this past weekend at Camp Fortune in Gatineau, QC and team TRANSCEND MAGAZINE rider James Jeannet competed in the Jr-X category.
Although the team concentarted mainly on Canada Cup, World Cup and Quebec Cup races this year, this O Cup race was being held close to home so we decided to take part.

The race course for the event was similar to that used for the Quebec Cup held here earlier this year but with several new sections put in.
The weather was a little unsettled over the weekend but the above average temperatures made the occasional rain showers easier to handle. The rocky well worn race course was fast even in the wet and did not seem to bother the more experianced racers.

James was looking fast all weekend in parctice and mangaed a very quick 2:19 clocking in his race run despite being hamppered by a slower rider that he caught up to near the end of the course. In the end James took second place, only 0.3 seconds off the lead.
His time was also only 4 seconds off the the best time in the Pro category set by Justin Brown.

The team now has it's sights set on the Chromefest DH race to be held on October 5th.
