    Tremblant Canada Cup

The second Canada Cup of the season was held this past weekend at Mt Tremblant.
For the second week in a row we were treated to some pretty decent early season weather. After a few passing showers on Friday, we had sunny and warm conditions for the rest of the weekend. Course conditions were still very sloppy nonetheless with many muddy sections and small streams crossing the course.
The number of racers was down from last weekend at Bromont with many competitors choosing to attend the US open race instead.
Most racers have a love / hate relationship with Tremblant, everyone agrees that the services and the resort itself is top notch, however the race course has not changed in over ten years is too pedally, not well laid and only starts at mid mountain. Given the potential of the mountain they could easily have a world cup class race course here but unfortunately mountain biking is not a major priority at the resort and it shows.
Team racers Emmanuel Daoust and James Jeannet took part in the race and were looking and feeling fast all weekend. Both riders took the start late in the afternnon , James was first out on course and unfortunetly had a huge over the bars crash in the first woods which messed up his shifter for the remainder of his run , he finished 8th in Junior X with a time of 5:04, Emmanuel started right behind James and a good race run excpet for a few slip ups that cost him some valuable seconds and enventually kept him off the podium. He took 4th place in Junior X with a time of 4.54

In Senior Elite it was Andrew Mitchell taking the victory with a quick 4:26 time followed closely by local crowd favorite Mat Laurin at 4:27
