MARIBOR, Slovenia (transcendmagazine.com) -- The legendary Maribor downhill track is living up to it's reputation this week. It's hard packed, loose and faster than anyone can remember.
Peaty and Vasquez are looking fast. Hill did one fast run and it was ridiculous. one no name local pro was slaying the rock garden until he came in WAY too hot, launched the first rock pile and exploded with no body armour on. He pushed back up and did it again, this time much slower with less full body ground contact. Nuts.
Men's downhill registration is now up to 340 riders, qualifiers is going to be a mess.
In other notes, Barel has 32" wide Dh bars going on (see the gallery for a photo). They are absolutely immense. Cedric has a brace on both wrists now. The intense pit just seems to get bigger by the hour. They could have a Metallica show in there.
