Martin Whiteley, who's been responsible for top level international teams such as the Global Team and Honda HRC, and was UCI Coordinator of the MTB discipline, will collaborate with the Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC) in the capacity as assistant manager, responsible for Downhill.
This collaboration comes about during a year off for the Australian manager, a resident of Granada, taking a break from running his team, and after being asked by National MTB Selector, Cristóbal Sánchez, who didn't want miss the opportunity for the national team to count on his invaluable help.
In the words of the National Technical Director of the RFEC, Mikel Zabala, he says "We have the collaboration with someone, who at this point in time, is considered the best in the world in the speciality. This means extra incentive and motivation for our riders who in 2007, got their best results in their history".
