    UCI Trade Team Roster News

AIGLE, Switzerland (transcendmagazine.com) -- Trade team information is now slowly trickling out of UCI headquarters in Switzerland. There are now 95 teams in total registered with the UCI, an increase of 43% over 2007. Leading the charge are downhill and 4x only teams, which now represent 40% of the total teams. The balance are XC only and mixed discipline teams.

USA's Duncan RIffle will be racing for the Cannondale factory team and not the cut as previously reported (despite being listed as the cut on the UCI website). He will be joined by Joost Wichman and Sam Dale. The Cut team will be comprised of Aaron Chase, Wayne Goss, Chris Van Dine and Carlo Dieckman.

The Playbiker Iron Horse team went International this season and picked up Florian Pugin of France, Nathan Rankin and Mike Skinner of New Zealand, Adam Brayton of Great Britain, USA's Geoff Ulmer and Canada's Dylan Morley.

The USA has an impressive amount of UCI teams this season, with no less than 14 teams registered out of the United States so far, including team Transcend Magazine. The US is just ahead of Germany and France in total number of registered teams. The list of UCI teams is definitely up from last year and should make for an exciting season. There are a total of 21 countries represented including teams from Russia, Turkey, Belarus and Croatia!

As far as we can tell, the list is not yet complete (or public) with a few known teams still to be added to it.

It is good to see automobile manufacturers slowly coming back as well. There is the Lapierre Saab Team, The new Mondraker Subaru Team and Trek VW makes a return to the circuit as well.
