CHILE (transcendmagazine.com) -- We received some great news out of Chile today. Berny Pizarro, the popular Chilean downhiller is now completely out of her coma and back home at a military hospital in Chile.
Pizarro broke her femur in Whistler and had some major complications from surgery, which lead to clots in her brain and lungs. Doctors enduced a coma to operate, but later could not ger her out of it due to the damage her brain sufferred from the clots.
Our Chilean contact had this to say:
"She can talk, she can move around, but all very slow, the damage she had to her head was to the frontal lobe of the brain so she has difficulties with social things, and her family doesnt want people to visit her yet, ill visit her next week i think, from what i can gather it looks like her recovery will be a near 100% physically but it still remains to see how her brain will recover, although she has come so far so quickly i cant help but think it she will pretty much all ok after its all over.
An event was held in benefit of her last sunday, it was sort of a spaghettifest held in the food court of a mall that specializes in all things sports, bikes were auctioned off and there was a bingo some nice prizes (i managed to get none!) too, and hosting was done by a very lovely daytime tv presenter. Sadly someone had the great idea to have a singer "talent" from one reality show do her thing, but well, the end justifies the means they say."
