MONTEREY, california (transcendmagazine.com) -- The rain predicted for the weekend has held off (so far). Skies are partly cloudy and the temperatures are cool in Monterey this morning, where the downhill is set to begin in just about 5 minutes time.

Reports are that the course is holding up well, despite the sloppy mud that covers large sections of it. Results and reports as they come in.

The pro mountain cross takes place at 2:30 this afternoon on a flat course still "featuring" many soft spots due to the rain.
