MALIBU, California – November 1, 2005 – The word is out and new riders want in on the action, including Team Discovery Channel’s rider Tony Cruz. Top cyclists from around the world are expected to race down the legendary Tuna Canyon and find out who is the fastest descender at the inaugural Red Bull Road Rage, co-sponsored by Giant Bicycle and Avid Brakes. Riders will take on a 2 mile course with a 2,000 foot elevation drop, cliff-hanging berms and 120 degree turns around rock faces at speeds up to 60 mph through the historic Tuna Canyon in Malibu, Calif.
WHO ARE THESE BRAVE, TALENTED RIDERS?
AND THAT ANNOUNCER SURE SOUNDS FAMILIAR…
With nearly half of the riders being California locals, out of towners like Marty Northstein from the East coast and Steve Bauer of Canada, will need to be on their game if they want to win the gold at the end of the day! You may want to keep an eye out for cycling legend and Tour De France announcer Boll Roll who will be the race emcee.
WHAT TO EXPECT BESIDES AN INCREDIBLE RACE
World class athletes will descend upon Tuna Canyon for practice on Friday, November 4th from 11am until 4pm. Saturday, November 5th will be race day!
